About CYBERCELL
Browser games and tools. No installs, no sign-ups, no ads.
Cybercell is a small independent project based in South Africa. We make things that run entirely in your web browser: a couple of games, a tax tool, and a weekly good-news site. There's no app to install, no account to create, and nothing to pay for.
What's here
- Brightside: a weekly handful of genuinely good news, checked against original sources and written to be a nice read. Lives at brightside.cybercell.co.za.
- CyberHash: a crypto-mining simulation game. Buy rigs, manage heat and power bills, and play a market of parody coins. Nothing real is mined and no real money is involved.
- CyberHash: ReHashed: a side-scrolling action-platformer set inside a corrupted mainframe.
- CyberTax: a helper for South African rental property tax. Estimate a refund, track expenses per property, and get ITR12 figures ready for eFiling. It's a calculator, not tax advice, and everything you enter stays on your device.
How we build things
A few rules we stick to across everything on the site:
- Your data stays with you. Games and tools save to your own browser. We don't run accounts or a user database, so there's nothing of yours on our servers.
- Nothing to install. Open a link and it works.
- No ads. Nothing pops up, nothing to close, nothing slowing a game down, and no ad networks following you around the web afterwards.
- Plain language. Whether it's a tax figure or a science story, we try to explain it the way a helpful friend would.
Money
Everything on Cybercell is free, and there is no advertising anywhere on the site. We cover the hosting ourselves. Our privacy policy explains the little we do collect, which isn't much.
