CYBERCELL Privacy Policy
Cybercell ("we", "us") operates a collection of small browser-based games and tools. This policy explains what data is involved when you use the site. In short: we don't run user accounts and we don't collect personal information ourselves. Most data never leaves your own device.
1. Information we collect
We do not ask you to sign up, and we do not directly collect names, emails, or other personal details. The site itself has no login and no server-side user database.
2. Local storage (your saves and tool data)
Our games and tools save your data using your browser's localStorage. This data
stays on your device, is readable only by this site in your browser, and is never
transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data will erase it. Because it is
stored per-device and per-browser, it does not sync between devices.
This specifically includes CyberTax: any tax figures you enter (income, expenses, ITR12 amounts) are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. Importing a document reads it on your device only.
3. Cookies & advertising
We may display advertising on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- Advertising is not currently active on this site, so no advertising cookies are set yet. When ads are enabled, visitors in regions that require it (for example the EU/UK) will be asked for consent or served non-personalized ads.
4. Analytics
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count visits. It only records aggregate, non-identifying stats like page views, never personal information.
5. Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
7. Your rights (POPIA)
For South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Cybercell is the responsible party for any personal information processed through this site. Because the site has no accounts and keeps your game and tool data only on your own device, we hold no personal information about you on our servers. Any advertising cookies (see section 3) are governed by the relevant third-party vendor. You have the right to ask what information, if any, we hold, to object to processing, and to complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
